When you download PlotBench
The download form asks for your email address. We store:
- your email address;
- your role (student, lecturer and so on), if you choose one;
- whether you ticked “Email me about new versions and offers”, and when;
- which file you downloaded, the date of your first and latest download, and how many times;
- your country, as reported by our hosting provider, Cloudflare. We do not store your IP address.
Why
- To know how many people use PlotBench, and in which roles and countries.
- To email you about a serious problem with the version you downloaded, or once to say that downloads are open if you registered before they were.
- Only if you ticked the box: to email you about new versions and offers.
We do not sell your details or share them with anyone, except a service provider that sends our emails for us.
Where and for how long
The data is stored in a Cloudflare database. We keep it until you ask us to delete it, or for three years after your latest download, whichever is sooner. Your browser also remembers the email you entered, so the form is filled in next time; clear your site data to remove it.
Your choices
Every news email has an unsubscribe link. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to withdraw your consent, email [email protected].
The app itself
PlotBench runs offline and sends nothing from your computer. Your data and figures stay on your computer. Pro licence keys are checked on your computer, without contacting us.
